I purchased this humidifier about 2 months ago. I am pleased with it. I tried 3 others before purchasing this one. The ones I tried before were noisy. If you set this one on high it is too noisy, but on low it is very quiet. Yes, the water does make gurgling sounds but only now and then, and it’s not that bad. I am considering buying another one, because when you like a product they always discontinue it or “improve” it.

In addition, I like this humidifier because it is an evaporative, no mist, no white dust. Also, I like that it has no light on it to disturb me while I sleep. I use it at night only. I don’t know how much humidity it produces, but it keeps my throat moist all night. The tank is very easy to fill and position on the unit, and I only have to fill it up every other night. The filter has not needed to be changed yet. In trying different units, I was surprised that so many were so poorly designed and noisy. I was so thankful to find this one. I recommend it highly. Get two while you’re at it. At the time of this writing, The Home Depot has them online for .97. That’s how much I paid.

I purchased this humidifier 5 years ago and it has run every winter from December till March nearly 24 hours a day. I like this unit because it humidifies my bedroom well and is easy to disinfect. I see people complaining about how they have to clean this unit so often…. I can tell you if you’re using ANY humidifier for weeks on end without disinfecting you’re going to be spreading pathogens. This is not based on hearsay, but from my college education in pathogens. You cant disinfect other humidifiers like you can with this one.

I disinfect this Hunter Humidifier once a day with Peroxide and every once in awhile with Vinegar. It takes ten minutes and I do it while getting ready to go to bed….not a big deal. The vinegar is a weak disinfectant but does remove the scale. I’m in the midwest with hard water. The permawick filter lasted 3 years. The motor just went out after a calculated 3000 hours of use.

I think the reason why so many people have burnt out motors is because they let the unit run dry or dont let the lower resevoir fill completely before turning the unit on to high. Running it dry spins up the fan and probably burns out the motor

Needless to say I will be purchasing another one.

I am completely impressed with this machine. I did a lot of research of air purifiers and finally settled on the HunterFan 30124. This item was intended to help clear an 11×11 bedroom from allergens as well as refresh stagnate air. It does not disappoint. The air is clean and odorless in just a few hours of initial use. There is a very natural feel to the room as well. My allergies have considerably improved as a result of running this machine on low. How does it sound? Well I can’t even hear it from six feet away on the low setting. On it’s medium setting you definitely hear it running, but it isn’t a motor sound or a hum, it’s just like a box fan. The high setting is the same as the medium only a bit more forceful. You begin to hear the hum. It doesn’t rattle. I bought mine at iallergy.com and had an amazing experience. It’s .00 shipping included. I had two day delivery and prompt friendly phone and email service. I’m particularly impressed with the high CADR ratings. A note on this though…This particular air purifier works in a 15×17 room, and I have mine in an 11×11. What this does is allow you to run the machine at low and avoid any noise on the medium setting (not that it is overly bothersome at that speed). Also, when you kick it up to medium or high, the refresh rate is super fast. Now, GO GET ONE and make your lungs happy! Ya-Ta!
